In October this year I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kelly & Bryant's wedding. Mr friendship with this couple began when they became one of the first couples to book me when I first started photographing weddings in late 2015. We hit it off straight away when we all met for the first time and I knew that these two beautiful people were exactly the kind of adventurous folks that I love and want to work with!
In the lead up to their big day Kelly purchased a wedding dress that was nearly 100 years old but unfortunately their were some issues that occurred during the alterations that needed to take place and the dress was damaged beyond repair. Luckily the fine folks at Chapel Sewing Solutions were able to salvage bits of the dress and add them to the new dress Kelly bought.

It's fair to say that Kelly & Bryant's wedding day was a really special day! First of all the boys prepared at Bryant's home amongst his groomsmen and his housemates. It was pretty cute to see the boys all doing eachothers hair. Bryant was really relaxed, so much so that he even found time to flick on the Xbox and smash out a couple of games of FIFA.
Kelly and her girls put on the final touches of their preparation at Duxton House in Stirling. Like any memorable and interesting day in life, not everything went to plan and they arrived a little bit later than expected so all systems were go and all hands were on deck. It's moments like these where I just stand back and capture the frenetic madness (it's stressful but also quite fun!). Kelly had some beautiful gifts to share with all the ladies there including her very cute flower girls who all received some beautiful new jewelry. Before we knew it Kelly was already about 30 minutes behind schedule and to top it off I became the wedding car driver as well as the photographer. I'd never driven a bride to her own wedding in my own car! Guess there's a first time for everything!
Bryant who was eagerly waiting at the end of the aisle was all smiles once he saw his bride being walked hand in hand with both her Mum and Dad. The ceremony was a really beautiful visual representation of this really inspirational couples character. They focused purely on what meant the most to them. They didn't use their wedding day to show off to the world how successful are, but instead kept true to themselves and the very strong love that they have for eachother. On their big day they chose to focus on the people that they love and each other.
In terms of advice that Kelly and Bryant would like to give to others planning a wedding, they said to me in one of our first conversations that you should focus on what's most important to you. In their case it was eachother, their loved ones (and the photography!). They noted that it's the memories that are the most important thing - flowers will die, invitations get thrown out - it is the memories that need to be treasured!
